You write to communicate to the hearts and minds of others what's burning inside you. And we edit to let the fire show through the smoke. -- Arthur Polotnik

I have always wanted to develop the skill of putting my words down and telling a story. A story that might give someone else an insight on how another person thinks and feels.

I have recently moved back to the US after a number of years in Austria. I wore a number of hats there, from Expat Relocation Agent to developing and running one of the first Expat Websites on the Internet. I was also lucky enough to spend my last five years as a manager at a Refugee Service Center which allowed me to meet many future US citizens.  It was a wonderful experience both employment wise and gave me a chance to again experience life in another country and learn about other cultures. I was also an Army Brat and Army Wife and have worn a number of different hats so putting down roots is rather new to me.

Some of my writing will focus on reverse culture shock, moving for love, new marriage and aging gracefully, with some poetry thrown in when the mood strikes. I may also make the occasional mistake of addressing Social and Political Issues, for this I ask for your forgiveness in advance. *smile*

Life in general has taught me much about relationships and other subjects and they all added to my life experiences. Through this hub I hope to address some of the things I have learned and am still learning. As much as I love to psychoanalyze situations, a few college classes in that area do not make me a qualified therapist, so I will just address the subjects, and write about them as someone who has experienced them and would like to share what she has learned.

I welcome feedback! Both positive and negative, but hope we can keep it on level of respectful interactions.

If you are considering a move to another, city, state or country for love, please read my articles and visit my blog on the subject at http://www.moving4love.net

    Finding My Faith

I have searched for a God throughout my life from Catholic childhood into the present I do have faith that there is something or someone out there . I am still not sure if God as depicted in the numerous religions exists, but I have met people in my life whose eyes, shone when they spoke of him and who exuded a peace that was transferable.

Family is Special So Use the Good China

TV trays, computer tables and laps seemed to have replaced the dining room or kitchen table and families seem to spread out throughout the house eating alone and concentrating on the television, computer or telephone. The later is even carried out in restaurants, where I see more and more couples playing with their phone instead of conversing with their partner.

    Adopting From A Shelter ?

I am an avid believer pets can only enrich your life and that people should head to the local shelter and adopt a new family member. So many great dogs are waiting for homes, however, I also think some logical thinking is needed in advance. Adopting a pet is a commitment...so do the research!

Men will squirm and look like a deer caught in the headlights when the subject is brought up.
